No, it’s not Kentucky, but there sure is beaucoup blue down here in Florida!

(driving over the bridge into Destin)
Been down here since last Saturday, the 26th of July. Loving it, of course!
Yes, it is hot, but there is that ocean breeze which helps some.
A group of us went out on a fishing trip Monday.

(L to R: Dad, Kevin, BJ Morse, Ben Hopper, Tanner and Jacob. Of course, Dad’s representing UK blue; brother Kevin’s sporting blue, too)
We caught a mess of Mingo Snapper. No color blue there! But they’re still purty!!

(froze them for a little fish fry when we get back)
I have to share this little tidbit from the fishing trip: I love dolphins, okay, but those rascals started stealing our fish after we hooked them and were reeling them up to the boat. That was a first, and I’m not afraid to say my love for dolphins has diminished somewhat because a thief is one thing I can’t stand.
Now, we can move on…
You’re wondering where the pics of the Autry women are, right? Well, you see, I value my life. I am not willing to risk it.
It’s an understood commandment that you must have express permission from women before posting pics. But you’ll not get it unless every hair is in place, every article of clothing is pristine, and there are absolutely no blemishes visible.
Mind you, it’s ok for family and close friends to see pics, but on this blog, which is accessible to the whole world, or over on my Notes of Blue FB page or Notes of Blue YouTube channel?
Not on your life! No thanks! I’ll just stick to pics of the male gender. They don’t mind, mostly.
There is one little girl, granddaughter Heidi Morse, who wouldn’t mind if I posted her pic, but with all the weirdos and wackos out there, I wouldn’t dare. Same goes for her brother Aris.
Tuesday the whole family group gathered on the beach at sunset so our daughter Lauren could shoot some pro pics. When she has those ready, I’ll share. Surely, I won’t be in danger for that, will I?
One day on the Henderson State Park Beach, just a few miles from Miramar Beach, I threw some football with Tanner, my and my wife Stephanie’s son.

Here’s me and my nephew Jacob at the Surf Hut.

(blue there, too, and even a Bluegrass T)
I was resting up after beach time one afternoon and checking out some FB feeds when I came across something relevant to Notes of Blue.
While modern Country star Luke Combs, who hails from North Carolina, was being interviewed on a Barstool Sports podcast, the question came up: Which state produces the best country music?
Combs said, “Kentucky’s talent is unmatched.”
Boy! Boy! Boy! You should have read the comments! Seriously, Combs might have lost a few fans over that answer, especially some of his fans from Texas.
Me, personally? I’m not a huge Luke Combs fan, but I like some of his music.
Now, though, after seeing him take heat for a simple, honest opinion, I’m compelled to throw him some appreciation. I’m fairly certain I speak for most, if not all, Kentuckians when I say—Thanks, Luke!
This vacation is about over. Lots of fun! Lots of memories! Lots of good food! But no matter how great it is to travel and experience new places, I find it always good to get back home to Kentucky.
